Wu Shuai

Wu Shuai is a professor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He is a recipient of the National High-level Talents Special Support Program for Scientific and Technological Innovation Leading Talents, a national candidate of the Millions of Talents Project, and a Young and Middle-aged Leading Talent in Science and Technology Innovation of the Innovative Talent Promotion Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He also enjoys the special government allowance of the State Council.

He mainly engages in research on terahertz technology and its applications, including terahertz imaging detection, terahertz communication, terahertz biomedicine, and common technologies for terahertz applications. He has undertaken several national projects and topics, including the 973 Program, the 863 Program, and the National Key Research and Development Program of China. He has led his team to develop the first domestic terahertz single-pixel imaging system and the terahertz real-time array imaging system. These systems achieve international leading levels in key indicators such as imaging resolution, signal-to-noise ratio, clutter suppression, and imaging speed. He has also pioneered the evaluation standards and testing methods for terahertz imaging technology, obtained more than 20 invention patents, and won two provincial and ministerial first prizes for science and technology award. He has also led the drafting of China's first industry standard for terahertz technology.
