Zhou Hongyan, male, was born in September 1966 in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree of Science from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1989 and a Ph.D. in Science from USTC in 2003. He became an associate professor at USTC in 2005 and was appointed as a professor in 2009. He was a visiting professor at the Department of Astronomy, University of Florida, USA from June 2006 to May 2007, and a Humboldt Scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, Germany from June 2007 to May 2009. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses, namely Electromagnetism, Electrodynamics, and Active Galactic Nuclei. His main research interests include galaxy physics, active galactic nuclei, and extrasolar planetary systems. In the past five years, he has published over 30 papers in international journals, with more than 300 citations.
