Liu Teng

Liu Teng, male, born in Zoucheng County-level City, Shandong Province in 1986, was enrolled into the 00 Class at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2003. He received his bachelor's degree in 2007 and continued his studies in the Department of Astronomy, obtaining a Ph.D. in Astrophysics in 2013. From 2010 to 2012, he spent two years as a joint training student at the Trieste Astronomical Observatory in Italy. Since 2013, he has been conducting postdoctoral research in the Department of Astronomy of USTC and was promoted to a Specially Appointed Associate Researcher after two years. From 2016 to 2017, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Massachusetts. In 2017, he joined the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics in Germany for postdoctoral research, and he was appointed as a Specially Appointed Professor of USTC in 2023.

With primary research areas including active galactic nuclei (AGN) and X-ray surveys, he has participated in numerous X-ray survey projects, including the Chandra Deep Field-South Survey, the XMM-Newton SDSS-RM Survey, the Swift Cluster Survey, and various eROSITA surveys. He has also led the publication of a series of X-ray catalogs.
