Professor/Doctoral Supervisor of the Department of Optics and Optical Engineering.
His main research areas include next-generation optical imaging, sensing and detection technology, new micro-nano photonic devices, physics and applications of optical field regulation, and the application of novel photonic technologies in environmental science, information science, and life sciences.
In 2007, he obtained his Ph.D. in Optics from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). From 2008 to 2010, he served as a Research Fellow at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Since 2010, he has been working at the Department of Optics and Optical Engineering, School of Physical Sciences, USTC.
Since 2010, he has published over 50 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author in journals such as Science Advances, Nature Communications, PNAS, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Optica, Laser Photonics Reviews, Advanced Materials, and Physical Review Applied. In addition to academic papers, he has been granted 15 national invention patents for new photonic technologies.
He has led key, general, and youth projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and participated in major scientific instrument development projects by the NSFC, the 973 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and national key R&D programs.
He was selected as the inaugural Zhongying Young Scholar of USTC; supported by the Anhui Provincial Outstanding Youth Science Fund in 2016; and awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2019 and 2023, and the Wang Kuancheng Talent Award in 2022. Currently, he serves as a council member of the third council of the Opto-Mechatronics Technology and System Integration Branch of the China Instrument and Control Society, a member of the eighth committee of the Optoelectronics Committee, and a senior member of the Chinese Optical Society and the China Instrument and Control Society.
He has supervised the graduation of 7 Ph.D. students and 2 master's students, and is currently supervising 6 graduate students, many of whom have received national scholarships (8 person-times), the President's Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (3 person-times), the Zhu Liyuehua Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (1 person-time), the Huawei Scholarship (2 person-times), and the Qiushi Award (1 person-time). Most of his graduates have secured permanent teaching and research positions in universities and research institutes or engaged in R&D in high-tech companies.
Our laboratory provides excellent experimental facilities and a good working environment. USTC offers a superior learning and research atmosphere and an advanced public experimental platform. We welcome students with a background in physics, optics, or optical engineering to join our research team.
