
Wang Anting, male, born in 1977, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the Department of Optics and Optical Engineering, School of Physical Sciences, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He is an executive member/committee member of the Image Science and Engineering Branch and the Opto-Mechatronics Technology and System Integration Branch of the China Instrument and Control Society, and the Optoelectronic Technology Professional Committee of the Chinese Optical Society.
He primarily engages in research on laser technology and modern display technology. He has published over 100 papers in journals such as Phys. Rev. Applied, Opto-Electronic Advances, Photon. Res., and Opt. Lett., and has applied for and been granted 70 invention patents and utility model patents. He has led national key R&D projects, projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 863 projects, and ministerial and provincial scientific research projects. He has received funding from the Anhui Province Research and Experiment Base for Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Scientific Research Leaders. He has authored the monograph Optoelectronic Technology and teaches courses such as Optics, Optics and Atomic Physics, Optoelectronic Technology, and Basic Physics Experiments. He has won scads of awards, including the second prize of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Education and Teaching Achievement Award for Construction and Practice of Physics Experiment Teaching System for Cultivating Graduate Students' Scientific Research Ability in 2016, the invention award at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva in 2019, and the second prize of the Anhui Province Teaching Achievement Award for Exploration of Experimental Practice Teaching for Graduate Students in Optics in 2022. He has also received multiple Excellence in Teaching awards, the Pingfan Foundation - Education Award, and the Wang Kuancheng Talent Award.
