Qin Wei is a specially appointed professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He is also a recipient of the National Innovation Talents Program for Young Scholars. Dr. Qin obtained his Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from USTC in 2017. From 2019 to 2023, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Texas at Austin, USA. He joined the School of Physical Sciences at USTC in 2023. His primary research focuses on electron correlation effects in novel two-dimensional material systems, including the microscopic pairing mechanisms of superconductors, competing orders, and topological superconductors. To date, he has published 28 papers in international academic journals such as Physical Review Letters and Nature Physics.
We warmly welcome undergraduates interested in theoretical calculations in condensed matter physics to pursue their Ph.D. or conduct their graduation projects in our research group. Additionally, we welcome Ph.D. holders with relevant backgrounds to join us for postdoctoral research. Interested individuals are encouraged to email at qinwei5@ustc.edu.cn
