Jiang Yi, male, Han nationality, is a professor and doctoral supervisor, and the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Born in November 1969 in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, he studied at the Department of Modern Physics of USTC from 1987 to 1992, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. From 1992 to 1993, he worked at USTC, and from 1993 to 1998, he pursued doctoral studies at the same department, obtaining a PhD in Science. Since 1998, he has been working at the Department of Modern Physics of USTC. From 2001 to 2003, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Physics of the University of Michigan, USA. In 2005, he became a professor of USTC. In July 2007, he was appointed the Executive Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department of USTC, and in October 2007, he became the Director of the Admissions and Employment Department. In September 2011, he was appointed the Director of the Academic Affairs Office of USTC. He was elected as a member of the USTC Party Committee in 2008, and he has served as the Deputy Secretary of the USTC Party Committee since February 2014.
He has been engaged in research on phenomenology of elementary particle physics and high-energy experimental data analysis at high-energy colliders for a long time, publishing over 60 academic papers and undertaking multiple national scientific research projects. He has consistently been involved in undergraduate fundamental course teaching and graduate student training. In 2008, he became a key member of the Electromagnetism National Teaching Team awarded by the Ministry of Education.
