Particle Detection & Electronics serve as the basis for particle physics, nuclear physics and particle astrophysics. To push its development, State Key Laboratory of Particle Detection & Electronics of CAS was established on April 25th 2005 by IHEP and USTC after more than one year’s preparation together, and it became one of the key lab of CAS in December 2008. In the key lab evaluation procedure performed in July 2009, State Key Laboratory of Particle Detection & Electronics was honored as A level.State Key Laboratory of Particle Detection & Electronics aims at building a top-ranking Particle Detection & Electronics research center all over the world. It is proposed to design and build several important physics research devices based on the requirement of our country. It will also be involved in the R&D program of several important international detectors, and will play an important role in the relevant field. At present, State Key Laboratory of Particle Detection & Electronics focuses on Daya Bay Neutrino Experiment. It contributes to the construction work of the Daya Bay project as one of the key members. Besides, the lab is also involved in the R&D studies of some new detectors, eg. ILC and synchrotron radiation x-ray detector.
