From August 23 to 26, 2010, Prof. J. L. Visschers from Netherlands Institute for Nuclear Physics and High-Energy Physics (NIKHEF) was invited to visit Center for Particle Physics and Technology (CPPT) of USTC. On Aug 24, Prof. Visschers gave a report titled “Single-Quantum Imaging and its Potential Applications”. He introduced the history and current status of NIKHEF, detector R&D progress, the latest single photon imaging detector and its application.
Prof. Visschers and teachers of CPPT also held an informal discussion around single photon imaging technology and its application in Particle physics experiment and Biomedical as well as future exchange and collaboration. During his stay, Prof. Visschers also visited National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory. He was deeply impressed by the achievement made by CCPT on particle detector, and expressed the interest of future collaboration.
