2010 USTC international Workshop of Reversed Field Pinch (RFP) was held from 18 to 20 October,2010 in 210 Meeting room at Department of Mordern Physics,USTC. Experts from all over the world attended the workshop.
Professor Liu Wandong, the executive dean of School of Physical Sciences, USTC, chaired the meeting. The major participants are as follows: Professor John Sarff and Cary Forest from University of Wisconsin, Madison, Professor Ding Weinxing from UCLA, Professor Xiao chijing from University of Saskatchewan, Professr Maria Ester Puiatti, the deputy of the Scientific Leader of the RFX programme at Consorzio RFX, ProfessorDominique Franck Escande from CNRS-Université de Provence, Marseille, France, Professor Sadao Masamune from Electronics Department at Kyoto Institute of Technology .
The whole meeting divided into four sections: 1. Introduction on RFP physics (Tutorial talks); 2. Reversed Field Pinch (Combined with EAST group); 3. MHD Physics; 4. Discussion on KTX. The participants made series of reports on RFP research.
The 2010 USTC international Workshop of RFP further expanded the international influence of fusion plasma physics research in USTC, and laid a solid foundation for international cooperation on RFP research . During the workshop, participants also visited the CAS,LBPP plasma division.
